Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Have 1-2 years of bakery experience or equivalent
  • Be dependable and reliable with a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Have good communication skills
  • Be able to take direction and work in a team
  • Be able to answer phones and take special orders
  • Perform general housekeeping and sanitation in the department
  • Be able to operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, and pallet jacks
  • Ability to stand for up to 3 hours continuously for a total of 8 hours per shift
  • Ability to handle physical tasks involving lifting up to 40 lbs safely
  • Adhere to all safety, health, and Food Handlers permit requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Have 1-2 years of bakery experience or acceptable combination of education and experience
  • Possess good communication skills and the ability to take direction and work in a team environment
  • Demonstrate outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude
  • Ability to answer phones and take special orders
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks involving lifting and transferring items safely

Job Duties

  • Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
  • Provide a high level of customer service and ensure bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of bakery area and equipment, including cleaning shelves, floors, and removing hazardous debris
  • Stock, fill, face, ensure pricing accuracy, rotate bakery products, and discard outdated or spoiled items
  • Receive, inspect, and log products for shipment accuracy, temperature, and quality
  • Adhere to food safety, health, and weight regulations
  • Operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, and pallet jacks as needed
