Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- One to three months related experience or training
- Valid state food handlers permit
- Valid driver license or state ID card
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods
- Capability to lift/move up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Clear communication skills
- Ability to perform all assigned duties safely
- Willingness to work assigned shifts punctually
- Ability to follow safety, hygiene and food handling regulations
- Must be able to perform mathematical calculations
- Must comply with company and legal policies
- Ability to operate bakery equipment following safety guidelines
- Capacity to work under moderate noise levels
- Must report accidents within 24 hours
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or one to three months related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Reads and comprehends simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
- Writes simple correspondence
- Communicates effectively and pleasantly with guests, vendors and fellow associates at all times
- Performs mathematical skills using units of American money, weight measurement and volume
- Applies common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form
- Manages problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Meets the state minimum requirement to work with slicers or other bakery equipment and tools
- Valid state food handlers permit
- Valid driver license or state ID card
- Completed company-provided training courses including active shooter, bakery skills training levels one to three, food handler's safety training, HIPAA training, late night retail safety training, guest service training
Job Duties
- Reporting for assigned shifts on time and communicating clearly
- Promoting sales by providing high-quality bakery products consistent with company formulas
- Providing exceptional guest service using trained skills
- Performing bakery production tasks such as finishing par-bake products, labeling, rotating, writing on cakes, implementing advertisements, using promotional cards
- Maintaining proficiency in producing a variety of bakery products including raised donuts, cakes, muffins, pies, artisan breads and seasonal items
- Operating bakery equipment safely including ovens, fryers, sheeters, slicers, and other assigned machinery
- Ensuring product quality by observing color, weight, and presentation standards
- Analyzing product shrinkage and maintaining accurate production records
- Receiving and inspecting ingredient deliveries for quality and correctness
- Accurately fulfilling guest special orders in a timely manner
- Mentoring new associates and fostering a positive learning environment
- Upholding workplace safety and food handling regulations
- Actively participating in bakery department safety and sanitation protocols
- Finding ways to enhance guest satisfaction
