Job Requirements

  • Previous food service, retail or grocery experience required
  • Knowledge or experience working with bread and pastry products required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout shift
  • Ability to use bakery and kitchen equipment safely
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
  • Flexibility to shift tasks based on department needs

Job Qualifications

  • Previous food service, retail or grocery experience
  • Previous retail bakery experience preferred
  • Knowledge or experience working with bread and pastry products
  • Basic ability to read and interpret documents
  • Basic math and computation skills
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Good judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Customer service skills
  • Ability to speak, read and understand English preferred

Job Duties

  • Engages customers in a friendly manner and shares product information
  • Assists customers in locating products throughout the store
  • Prepares and produces bakery and pastry products according to company and regulatory standards
  • Maintains bakery inventory by ordering products and ingredients
  • Builds attractive displays and arranges department products
  • Maintains cleanliness and safety standards in bakery area
  • Trains and supports department clerks in bakery tasks and product knowledge
