Job Requirements
- Previous food service, retail or grocery experience required
- Knowledge or experience working with bread and pastry products required
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to stand and walk throughout shift
- Ability to use bakery and kitchen equipment safely
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
- Flexibility to shift tasks based on department needs
Job Qualifications
- Previous food service, retail or grocery experience
- Previous retail bakery experience preferred
- Knowledge or experience working with bread and pastry products
- Basic ability to read and interpret documents
- Basic math and computation skills
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Good judgment and problem-solving skills
- Customer service skills
- Ability to speak, read and understand English preferred
Job Duties
- Engages customers in a friendly manner and shares product information
- Assists customers in locating products throughout the store
- Prepares and produces bakery and pastry products according to company and regulatory standards
- Maintains bakery inventory by ordering products and ingredients
- Builds attractive displays and arranges department products
- Maintains cleanliness and safety standards in bakery area
- Trains and supports department clerks in bakery tasks and product knowledge
