Job Requirements

  • be able to stand for up to 3 hours continuously for a total of 8 hours per shift
  • be able to vertically transfer trays up to 5 lbs from 7 to 64 inches for up to 10 hours
  • be able to vertically/horizontally transfer items up to 40 lbs from 5 to 36 inches for a distance up to 36 feet for up to 10 hours without mechanical assistance
  • perform general housekeeping including cleaning and sanitizing work areas such as tables, floors, walls, cases, coolers, and freezers
  • be dependable and reliable
  • have good communication skills
  • be able to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • be able to answer phones and take special orders

Job Qualifications

  • be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • have 1-2 years bakery experience or acceptable combination of education and experience
  • be dependable and reliable with the ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • have outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude
  • possess good communication skills and ability to take direction and work in a team
  • be able to operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • have a food handler's permit and adhere to all safety, health, and weights and measures regulations

Job Duties

  • assist the bakery manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
  • provide a high level of customer service and ensure bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
  • maintain cleanliness, safety, and sanitation of bakery area and equipment
  • stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy of bakery products
  • receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality
  • answer phones and take special orders
  • perform general housekeeping including cleaning and sanitizing work areas
