Job Requirements
- be able to stand for up to 3 hours continuously for a total of 8 hours per shift
- be able to vertically transfer trays up to 5 lbs from 7 to 64 inches for up to 10 hours
- be able to vertically/horizontally transfer items up to 40 lbs from 5 to 36 inches for a distance up to 36 feet for up to 10 hours without mechanical assistance
- perform general housekeeping including cleaning and sanitizing work areas such as tables, floors, walls, cases, coolers, and freezers
- be dependable and reliable
- have good communication skills
- be able to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- be able to answer phones and take special orders
Job Qualifications
- be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
- have 1-2 years bakery experience or acceptable combination of education and experience
- be dependable and reliable with the ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- have outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude
- possess good communication skills and ability to take direction and work in a team
- be able to operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
- have a food handler's permit and adhere to all safety, health, and weights and measures regulations
Job Duties
- assist the bakery manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
- provide a high level of customer service and ensure bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
- maintain cleanliness, safety, and sanitation of bakery area and equipment
- stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy of bakery products
- receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality
- answer phones and take special orders
- perform general housekeeping including cleaning and sanitizing work areas
