Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Over six months up to one year of related bakery experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and repetitive motions
- Visual capability including color vision and depth perception
- Ability to follow instructions and solve practical problems
- Commitment to punctuality and reliable attendance
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen
- Adherence to company policies and personal hygiene standards
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- More than six months up to one year of similar or related bakery experience preferred
- Ability to provide excellent customer service
- Strong teamwork and leadership skills
- Basic arithmetic skills including fractions, decimals, and percentages
- Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with bakery equipment and safety standards
- Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and sanitation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Job Duties
- Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store
- Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether in the bakery or elsewhere in the store
- Makes an effort to learn customers' names and to address them by name whenever possible
- Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing items out of reach, loading/unloading heavy items, noting and passing along customer suggestions
- Answers telephone promptly and takes product orders
- Checks daily orders and sets up production schedule
- Prepares, bakes, fries all bakery products as needed
- Reviews product freshness and removes stale items
- Invoices and stores products as instructed
- Anticipates product needs for current and future days
- Inspects incoming products for quality and quantity
- Monitors bakery equipment and reports maintenance issues
- Checks signage for correct labels
- Reviews bakery area for safety issues
- Operates as a lead with bakery clerks
- Prioritizes orders per customer and manager requests
- Proofs bakery items
- Pulls products from freezer or cooler
- Practices proper sanitation and maintains clean work area
- Adheres to hygiene, dress, and company policies
- Reports to work on time as scheduled
