Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Six months to one year of related bakery experience
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
  • Good vision including color vision and depth perception
  • Ability to perform physical activities including stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
  • Ability to follow safety and sanitation standards
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Punctuality and reliability
  • Willingness to adhere to company policies and dress codes
  • Availability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Over six months up to one year of related baking or bakery experience
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions
  • Ability to perform arithmetic involving fractions, decimals, and percentages
  • Skilled in basic data recording and customer interaction
  • Comfortable with leadership roles and supervising bakery clerks
  • Knowledge of bakery equipment and production processes
  • Commitment to customer service excellence
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks

Job Duties

  • Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service
  • Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner
  • Makes an effort to learn customers' names and address them by name
  • Assists customers by escorting them to products and handling product requests
  • Answers the telephone promptly and takes product orders
  • Checks orders and sets production schedule
  • Prepares, bakes, and fries all bakery products
  • Reviews product freshness and removes stale items
  • Invoices and stocks product as directed
  • Anticipates product needs for current and future days
  • Inspects quality and quantity of incoming products
  • Monitors bakery equipment and reports maintenance needs
  • Verifies correct labeling and signage on products
  • Ensures workplace safety and sanitation standards
  • Acts as lead with bakery clerks
  • Prioritizes orders according to customer and manager requests
  • Proofs bakery items as needed
  • Pulls products from freezer or cooler
  • Maintains clean and organized work area
  • Adheres to personal hygiene and dress standards
  • Follows company policies and reporting guidelines
  • Reports to work punctually
  • Orders supplies and merchandise as directed
  • Re-merchandises shelves and removes outdated products
  • Writes department schedule and manages employee attendance
  • Assists in other store areas as needed
  • Performs other job-related duties and special projects
