Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent preferred
  • prior baking experience in food service desired
  • must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • availability to work 20-24 hours per week including every other weekend and holidays
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to follow recipes and food safety standards

Job Duties

  • Prepare desserts two days out
  • decorate small cakes daily for residents' birthdays
  • prepare monthly birthday cakes for all areas
  • prepare grocery orders for pies, cookies, cakes, etc.
  • make and set up orders for special functions
  • prepare food items for monthly brunch including sticky buns, pastries, Danish, and waffles
  • plate desserts daily for each area
  • make purees and mechanical desserts and fruits
  • organize and create desserts for five bake sales annually
  • create menu, prep, prepare, and plate one Chef's dinner annually
  • make diet desserts daily
  • cut fruit daily
  • bake different muffins and cookies for snacks
  • make smoothies every other day for Cedarwood
  • complete paperwork for production book
  • prepare supply lists for executive chef biweekly
  • perform other duties as assigned
