Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Possess 1-2 years bakery experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Be dependable and reliable
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Have and show outgoing and friendly behavior
  • Have good communication skills
  • Ability to take direction and participate in a team environment
  • Able to stand for up to 3 hours continuously and during an 8-hour shift
  • Able to transfer trays and items up to specified weights and distances without mechanical assistance
  • Adhere to all safety, health, and weight and measures regulations
  • Maintain a Food Handlers permit

  • Ability to answer phones and manage special orders
  • Able to operate bakery equipment including knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain a Food Handlers permit

Job Duties

  • Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
  • Provide high level of customer service and ensure bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of the bakery area and equipment including cleaning shelves, floors, and removing hazardous debris
  • Stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while rotating products and discarding spoiled items
  • Receive, inspect, and log products for shipment accuracy, temperature, and quality
  • Answer phones and take special orders
  • Perform general housekeeping including cleaning and sanitizing work area
