Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Over six months up to one year of similar or related experience
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
  • Ability to perform physical activities such as stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
  • Visual acuity with or without correction
  • Ability to work in fast paced and temperature variable environment
  • Ability to use bakery equipment safely
  • Commitment to personal hygiene and company dress code
  • Willingness to adhere to company policies and schedules
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Over six months up to one year of related bakery experience
  • Ability to provide courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service
  • Knowledge of bakery equipment operation
  • Ability to follow sanitation and safety procedures
  • Good communication skills
  • Basic arithmetic skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well in a team and lead bakery clerks when required
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and positive attitude

Job Duties

  • Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service
  • Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner
  • Makes an effort to learn customers' names and address them by name
  • Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing items out of reach, loading/unloading heavy items, noting customer suggestions
  • Answers the telephone promptly and takes product orders
  • Checks orders for the day and sets production schedule
  • Prepares, bakes, and fries all department products as needed
  • Reviews product freshness and pulls by stale dates
  • Invoices and puts away products
  • Anticipates product needs for current and subsequent days
  • Inspects incoming product quality and quantity
  • Understands bakery equipment use and follows up on maintenance
  • Checks signage for correct labels
  • Reviews department for safety issues
  • Operates as a lead with bakery clerks
  • Prioritizes orders per customer and manager requests
  • Proofs necessary items
  • Pulls product from freezer or cooler
  • Practices proper sanitation and cleanliness
  • Maintains personal hygiene and dress guidelines
  • Adheres to company policies
  • Reports to work as scheduled and on time
  • Orders supplies and merchandise as directed
  • Re-merchandises shelves and discards outdated products
  • Writes department schedule in manager's absence
  • Assists in other store areas as needed
  • Performs other job-related duties and projects as required
