Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Over six months up to one year of similar or related experience
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
- Ability to perform physical activities such as stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
- Visual acuity with or without correction
- Ability to work in fast paced and temperature variable environment
- Ability to use bakery equipment safely
- Commitment to personal hygiene and company dress code
- Willingness to adhere to company policies and schedules
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Over six months up to one year of related bakery experience
- Ability to provide courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service
- Knowledge of bakery equipment operation
- Ability to follow sanitation and safety procedures
- Good communication skills
- Basic arithmetic skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well in a team and lead bakery clerks when required
- Ability to maintain professionalism and positive attitude
Job Duties
- Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service
- Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner
- Makes an effort to learn customers' names and address them by name
- Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing items out of reach, loading/unloading heavy items, noting customer suggestions
- Answers the telephone promptly and takes product orders
- Checks orders for the day and sets production schedule
- Prepares, bakes, and fries all department products as needed
- Reviews product freshness and pulls by stale dates
- Invoices and puts away products
- Anticipates product needs for current and subsequent days
- Inspects incoming product quality and quantity
- Understands bakery equipment use and follows up on maintenance
- Checks signage for correct labels
- Reviews department for safety issues
- Operates as a lead with bakery clerks
- Prioritizes orders per customer and manager requests
- Proofs necessary items
- Pulls product from freezer or cooler
- Practices proper sanitation and cleanliness
- Maintains personal hygiene and dress guidelines
- Adheres to company policies
- Reports to work as scheduled and on time
- Orders supplies and merchandise as directed
- Re-merchandises shelves and discards outdated products
- Writes department schedule in manager's absence
- Assists in other store areas as needed
- Performs other job-related duties and projects as required
