Job Requirements
- be able to stand for up to 3 hours continuously for an 8-hour shift
- able to vertically transfer trays up to 5 lbs from 7" to 64" and items up to 40 lbs for distances up to 36 feet without mechanical assistance
- adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
- hold and maintain a Food Handlers permit
Job Qualifications
- be at least 18 years of age
- possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- have 1-2 years bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
- be dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- demonstrate outgoing, friendly behavior with a positive attitude
- possess good communication skills
- ability to work in a team environment
- be capable of performing general housekeeping and sanitation in bakery department
- able to operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
Job Duties
- assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
- provide a high level of customer service and ensure bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
- maintain cleanliness, safety, and sanitation of bakery area and equipment
- stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining product rotation and discarding outdated items
- receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality
- operate bakery equipment and tools safely
- answer phones and take special orders
