Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Possess 1-2 years bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • Be dependable and reliable
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Have outgoing and friendly behavior
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to take direction and work in a team environment
  • Ability to operate bakery equipment and tools
  • Ability to stand for up to 3 hours continuously during 8-hour shifts
  • Ability to transfer trays and items up to 40 pounds without mechanical assistance
  • Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
  • Achieve and maintain Food Handlers permit

Job Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Have 1-2 years bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • Be dependable and reliable with ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Have outgoing and friendly behavior with positive attitude and good communication skills
  • Ability to take direction and participate in a team environment
  • Be able to operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • Maintain all safety and health regulations including achieving and maintaining Food Handlers permit

Job Duties

  • Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
  • Provide a high level of customer service and ensure bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
  • Maintain clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment including cleaning shelves, floors, and removing hazardous debris
  • Stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining rotation of bakery products and discarding outdated or spoiled items
  • Receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality
  • Answer phones and take special orders
  • Perform general housekeeping and sanitation in the bakery department
