Job Requirements
- Two years progressive experience in bakery preferred
- culinary school or training preferred but not required
- knowledge in operating bakery machinery
- valid CA food handler's certification
- availability to work on weekends
- must be eligible to work in the U S
- ability to work extended periods on feet and be able to lift 50 lbs
Job Qualifications
- Two years progressive experience in bakery preferred
- culinary school or training preferred but not required
- knowledge in operating bakery machinery
- proven track record of demonstrating abilities in the kitchen from developing and following recipes to paying close attention to details to create one-of-a-kind quality breads
- ability to produce a wide range of breads and pastries
- extensive knowledge and understanding of fermentation lamination proofing and folding techniques
- experience operating sheeter mixer proofer and industrial baking ovens in addition to all bakery equipment
- attention to detail and ability to produce bakery items to exacting specifications in a timely manner
- flexibility to take direction and innovations with the team
- spirit of a champion with extensive knowledge of bakery team procedures and policies
- projects warmth enthusiasm honesty and optimism that attracts and energizes others
- excellent interpersonal motivational team building communication and customer relationship skills
- understanding of basic retail P and L principles including the specific levers that drive sales and profitability

Job Duties
- Lead all aspects of bakery operation including customer service production cost management and training functions
- create and execute the production of bagels scones pies and a wide variety of baked goods
- manage the operations of the bakery and cultivate a positive and productive work environment
- take essential responsibility for the business performance of their respective department
- ensure sales profitability through service excellence and lean operation
- organize and supervise employee shifts
- participate in management and personnel meetings
- check stock levels and order supplies and materials
- maintain high standards of quality control service hygiene and health and safety
- report directly to general manager
