Job Requirements
- Be dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Be able to stand for up to 3 hours continuously for a total of 8 hours per shift
- Able to transfer trays up to 5 lbs vertically from 7 inches to 64 inches for up to 10 hours
- Able to vertically and horizontally transfer items up to 40 lbs from 5 inches to 36 inches for up to 10 hours without mechanical assistance
- Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
- Perform general housekeeping and cleaning tasks including tables, floors, walls, cases, coolers, and freezers
Job Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
- Have 1-2 years of bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
- Possess outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude
- Have good communication skills and the ability to take direction and work in a team environment
- Ability to answer phones and take special orders
- Knowledge of food safety, health regulations, and ability to maintain a Food Handlers permit
Job Duties
- Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
- Provide a high level of customer service and ensure bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and sanitation of the bakery area and equipment
- Stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining product rotation and discarding outdated or spoiled items
- Receive, inspect, and log products for shipment accuracy, temperature, and quality
- Operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
- Perform general housekeeping duties including cleaning and sanitizing work areas
