Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to bend, knead, and lift heavy bags of flour, sugar, and other baking ingredients up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work with hot ovens and baking equipment
  • Must be able to work in a warm and fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous baking experience preferred
  • Knowledge of baking techniques and principles
  • Ability to operate commercial baking equipment
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Good physical stamina to handle long periods of standing and lifting
  • Ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines

Job Duties

  • Prepare and bake a wide variety of baked goods including bread, cakes, cookies, pastries, pies, and other specialty items
  • Operate ovens and other baking equipment ensuring temperatures are correct and baked goods are cooked to perfection
  • Monitor ingredient inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
  • Clean and sanitize baking equipment, workstations, and utensils to maintain a safe and hygienic environment
  • Regularly inspect baked goods for quality ensuring they meet the bakery’s standards in appearance, texture, and taste
  • Follow and complete a daily par sheet
  • Maintain strict health department and company food safety standards through proper food handling and cleanliness
