  • Experience operating baking equipment
  • Experience following recipes
  • Ability to complete and maintain Food Safety Training required by University Housing and Dining

  • One year of experience as a baker in a restaurant commercial or institutional facility
  • Experience operating baking equipment
  • Experience following recipes
  • Ability to complete and maintain Food Safety Training required by University Housing and Dining
  • Culinary degree preferred
  • Two years of baking experience preferred
  • Experience preparing and baking from scratch preferred
  • High volume baking experience preferred
  • Ability to multitask and work with little supervision preferred

Job Duties

  • Assist in the preparation of all types of baked goods utilizing commercial kitchen equipment
  • Read and comprehend recipes including conversions
  • Independently prepare recipes in a high-volume establishment
  • Execute recipes to reduce waste and provide fresh products
  • Report any recipe discrepancies to the Chef
  • Prepare product transfers and requisitions for bakery location
  • Complete daily production records and waste sheets
  • Assist in cleaning all bakery areas
  • Maintain hot and cold storage in safe and organized condition
  • Check computer printouts for menu amounts and recipes
  • Review menu and purchase requirements
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff for timely and efficient food service
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Ensure baked goods are visually appealing and attractively presented
  • Communicate professionally with staff and customers
  • Maintain current knowledge of bakery responsibilities
  • Ensure timely delivery of quality products
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Properly label and store products
  • Maintain temperature logs
  • Avoid cross contamination and monitor food quality
  • Adhere to University and UHD policies including time and attendance
  • Complete and maintain required food safety training
  • Follow work safety guidelines and utilize proper PPE
  • Perform other duties as assigned
