- Ability to operate bakery equipment and follow baking procedures
- Good physical stamina to perform frequent lifting, standing, and movement
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance
Job Duties
- Greet all customers and provide them with prompt and courteous service or assistance
- Commit to the Golden Rule and work with other associates to build a strong bakery team
- Achieve the highest associate morale by working in a respectful, supportive and totally team oriented style
- Assist in receiving and unloading merchandise and verify vendor invoices
- Check products for quality, count, and condition
- Keep bakery ingredients and merchandise rotated using first in, first out method
- Assist in ordering and maintaining inventory control
- Handle damaged and spoiled products according to company policy
- Take stock to storage or shelf areas
- Prepare baking mixtures as per department procedures and recipes
- Pan up frozen products and pan and roll up bread
- Load and unload oven
- Know proper baking temperatures and duration
- Operate mixer and decorate cakes
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations
- Practice proper sanitation and cleaning procedures
- Maintain neat personal appearance following dress code
- Keep display cases, cooler, freezer, and work areas clean and organized
- Exercise proper safety practices when lifting or using equipment
- Restock and use supplies efficiently to minimize waste
- Promote items on public address system
- Notify management of theft, shoplifting or property defacement
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
