Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Applicant must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have knowledge of kitchen sanitation, operation, and maintenance of kitchen and bakery equipment
  • Must be able to work any day of the week and any shift including holidays and weekends
  • Must pass background check
  • Must be able to bend, twist, turn, push, and pull a minimum of 100 lbs in a cart
  • Must be able to reach above and below shoulder while carrying a minimum of 50 lbs
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods or entire shift
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Must have flexibility in fingers and hands to utilize kitchen and bakery equipment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience preferred
  • Knowledge of kitchen sanitation, operation and maintenance of kitchen and bakery equipment
  • Ability to follow strict bakery recipes and decorating techniques
  • Knowledge of proper pastry bag, cake decorating skills, piping techniques, knife and spatula techniques
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Familiarity with all phases of bakery operations and sense of urgency to respond to business demands

Job Duties

  • Responsible for the production and decorating of all baked and finished goods for property outlets
  • Follows established recipes by weighing, mixing, proofing, baking, and finishing baked products
  • Produces individual pastries, cakes, pies, plated desserts, breads, cookies, and decorates by company standards
  • Mixes, forms and bakes formulas accurately ensuring consistent product quality and trouble shoots discrepancies
  • Follows order form and forecasts ingredients needed for the following day
  • Prepares pans for baking process and operates ovens
  • Operates kitchen and bakery equipment including mixer, steam kettle, stove, sheeter, glaze machine, confectionery machines, heat lamps, deep fryers, broiler and basic hand tools
  • Oversees workstation based on par levels, occupancy and reservations maintaining quality
  • Maintains and rotates dated food stock for quality assurance
  • Provides relief for Sous Chefs and assists in other kitchen areas as assigned
  • Maintains assigned station clean and sanitary according to department standards
  • Recognizes and corrects product discrepancies and variations in quality, standards and specifications
