Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience preferred
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Knowledge of kitchen sanitation, operation, and maintenance of kitchen/bakery equipment
- Must be able to work any day of the week and any shift, including holidays and weekends
- Must pass background check
- Must be able to bend, twist, turn, push, and pull a minimum of 100 lbs. in a cart
- Must be able to reach above and below the shoulder while carrying a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time and/or entire shift
- Flexibility in fingers and hands to utilize kitchen/bakery equipment, bottles/glasses/knives/etc
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience preferred
- Knowledge of kitchen sanitation, operation, and maintenance of kitchen/bakery equipment
- Knowledge of proper pastry bag, cake decorating skills, piping techniques, and knife and spatula techniques
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Familiar with all phases and operations of the bakery
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Job Duties
- Responsible for the production and decorating of all baked and finished goods for property outlets
- Follows standard, established recipes by weighing, mixing, proofing, baking and finishing baked products
- Ability to produce individual pastries, cake, pies, plated desserts, breads, cookies, pies, etc. and to decorate by set standards set forth by the company
- Ability to mix, form and bake formulas accurately so that a consistent product is made each and every time and to troubleshoot when item is not correct
- Ability to follow an order form and forecast the necessary ingredients needed for the following day
- Prepares pans for the baking process while loading and unloading ovens
- Able to operate the following: scale, upright mixer, steam kettle, stove, sheeter, glaze machine, confectionary machines, heat lamps, deep fryers, broiler, basic hand tools, etc.
- Ability to oversee a workstation based on par levels, occupancy, and reservations within food outlets while maintaining quality
- Maintains and rotates dated food stock for quality assurance
- Able to provide relief for Sous Chefs while providing assistance in all kitchen areas and other duties as assigned
- Maintains assigned station in a clean and sanitary condition in accordance with department service standards and job functions
- Recognizes and corrects any product discrepancies and variations in quality, standards and specifications
