Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • possess 1-2 years bakery experience or acceptable combination of education and experience
  • demonstrate dependability and reliability
  • work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • show outgoing, friendly behavior and positive attitude
  • have good communication skills and ability to take direction
  • able to answer phones and take special orders
  • perform cleaning and sanitizing of work area
  • operate bakery tools and equipment
  • stand for long periods
  • lift and transfer items up to 40 lbs
  • adhere to safety, health, and weights and measures regulations
  • maintain food handler's permit

Job Duties

  • Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
  • provide a high level of customer service and ensure bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
  • maintain clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment including cleaning shelves, floors, and removing hazardous debris
  • stock, fill, face shelves, ensure pricing accuracy, examine product rotation, and discard expired goods
  • receive, inspect, and log products for shipment accuracy, temperature, and quality
  • operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, and pallet jacks
  • answer phones and take special orders
