Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years bakery experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- ability to stand for up to 3 hours continuously during an 8-hour shift
- ability to transfer trays up to 5 lbs from 7 inches to 64 inches and transfer items up to 40 lbs from 5 inches to 36 inches for distances up to 36 feet
- good communication skills
- ability to operate bakery equipment and tools
- adherence to safety and health regulations
- maintain Food Handler's permit
Job Qualifications
- be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
- have 1-2 years bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
- be dependable and reliable with ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- have outgoing and friendly behavior with positive attitude and ability to interact with customers
- possess good communication skills and ability to take direction and participate in a team environment
- be able to operate and use knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
- adhere to all safety, health, and weights and measures regulations
- maintain a Food Handler's permit
Job Duties
- assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
- provide high level of customer service and ensure bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
- maintain clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment including cleaning shelves and products, keeping floors free of spills, removing hazardous debris, and sweeping
- stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining rotation of bakery products and discarding outdated items
- receive, inspect, and log products for shipment accuracy, temperature, and quality
- answer phones and take special orders
- perform general housekeeping and sanitation duties in the bakery department
