Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Have 1-2 years bakery experience or acceptable combination of education and experience
  • Be dependable and reliable with the ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Demonstrate outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude
  • Possess good communication skills and ability to work in a team
  • Be able to answer phones and take special orders
  • Perform general housekeeping including cleaning and sanitizing work areas
  • Be able to operate bakery equipment like knives, scales, wrappers, and pallet jacks
  • Be able to stand for up to 3 hours continuously, and handle physical tasks like transferring trays and items up to 40 lbs
  • Adhere to all safety, health, and weights and measures regulations while maintaining a Food Handlers permit

Job Duties

  • Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
  • Provide high level of customer service ensuring bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
  • Maintain clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment including cleaning shelves, floors and removing hazardous debris
  • Stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining rotation of bakery products and discarding outdated items
  • Receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality
  • Answer phones and take special orders
  • Operate and use knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed
