Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 6 months of experience directly related to duties and responsibilities specified
- ServSafe food handler's certificate or equivalent
- Must provide your own transportation
- Must be able to lift and carry heavy bags of flour and other ingredients which may weigh up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand for long periods while preparing and/or monitoring baking
- Ability to perform repetitive motions such as reaching, bending, lifting, carrying, stooping and working with heated equipment, steam and other risk conditions
- Regular exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, extreme cold and extreme heat
- Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- ServSafe food handler's certificate or equivalent
- Associate degree in baking and/or pastry arts preferred
- Post-secondary training at a culinary institution preferred
- Passionate about baking
- Detail oriented, efficient, organized and works with a sense of urgency
- Math skills involving fractions, decimals and knowledge of metric system
- Problem solver and self-starter
Job Duties
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work area including utensils and equipment
- Cross train as required by your manager
- Must be able to work early morning shifts, weekends and holidays
- Monitor and maintain established quality and brand standards
- Prepare and bake a variety of products according to established formulas and health and safety regulations
- Receive and stock deliveries and store them according to FIFO
- Mentor intern(s) and incorporate them into production when appropriate
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
