Job Requirements

  • be able to stand for up to 3 hours continuously during an 8-hour shift
  • be able to transfer trays up to 5 lbs from 7" to 64" for up to 10 hours
  • be able to transfer items up to 40 lbs from 5" to 36" for up to 10 hours without mechanical assistance
  • maintain a Food Handlers permit
  • perform general housekeeping including cleaning and sanitizing tables, floors, walls, cases, cooler, and freezer
  • answer phones and take special orders
  • work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • operate bakery equipment safely and accurately

Job Qualifications

  • be at least 18 years of age
  • have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • possess 1-2 years of bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • be dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • have an outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude
  • have good communication skills and ability to participate in a team environment
  • be able to operate bakery equipment including knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations

Job Duties

  • assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
  • provide a high level of customer service ensuring bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
  • maintain clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment
  • stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining rotation of bakery products and discarding outdated or spoiled items
  • receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality
  • answer phones and take special orders
  • perform general housekeeping duties including cleaning and sanitizing work areas
