Job Requirements
- Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environment
- Able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, ever-changing environment
- Experience in a luxury hotel or related field preferred
- Food safety certification is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Culinary certification or degree preferred
- Minimum 3 to 4 years culinary experience
- Ability to communicate in English
- Knowledge of chemical handling, cleaning techniques, and equipment use
- Ability to work flexible schedules
- Able to perform multiple tasks
- Physical agility and ability to move quickly in confined spaces
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, and bend throughout shift
- Ability to push, pull, lift up to 100 pounds
- Ability to work in areas of high heat and humidity
Job Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Culinary certification or degree preferred
- Minimum 3 to 4 years of culinary experience preferred
- Experience in a luxury hotel or related field preferred
- Food safety certification is a plus
- Ability to communicate in English
- Knowledge of proper chemical handling, cleaning techniques, and use of equipment
- Ability to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends
- Able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
- Able to understand financial information and basic arithmetic functions
Job Duties
- Follow Occupational Health and Safety regulations
- Ensure equipment and kitchen cleanliness
- Maintain refrigerators and kitchen in clean, organized manner with all food items labeled and dated
- Maintain an effective training program for all employees to maximize productivity
- Keep production of food at appropriate levels to prevent waste
- Inform pastry cooks of special products needed for upcoming functions
- Daily check Event Orders for all bread-related food requirements
- Schedule bread production staff based on business demand
- Supervise preparation, quality, and quantity of all baked items, ensuring standards are met
- Supervise cleaning and equipment maintenance in Pastry Shop
- Provide special themed showpieces as required
- Provide own basic tools of the trade such as chef's knife, paring knife, peeler
- Perform any other reasonable requests from management
