Job Requirements

  • Must have at least 2 years relevant work experience baking big bulk batches
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Class B gaming license from the Stillaguamish Tribal Gaming Agency
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Washington State Health Card (Food Worker Card)
  • Must be physically able to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, special events and holidays
  • Must follow all Tribal, State, Federal and NIGC regulations
  • Must be punctual, reliable and detail oriented
  • Must have strong verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to maintain professional and courteous relationships
  • Must be willing to work in a fast paced and multi-tasking environment

Job Qualifications

  • Exceptional guest service skills required
  • At least 2 years relevant work history baking big bulk batches
  • Experience in high volume scratch baking, bread doughs, cake, wedding cake and overall pastry and cake decorating
  • Highly detail oriented, punctual, and reliable
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast paced and multi-tasking environment
  • Positive, willingness to learn, friendly and outgoing attitude
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong and outgoing verbal communication skills in person
  • Ability to maintain professional, courteous, and effective working relationships with all levels of the organization and outside business contacts
  • Ability to accurately follow directions from management
  • Ability to lift and move moderately heavy items regularly

  • Ability to communicate clearly with all kitchen staff
  • Manage flow and timing of finished product within a shift
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals

Job Duties

  • Assist Pastry Chef in creating quality baked goods and coaching or mentoring the assistant baker
  • Assist in forecasting usage based on set pars using a product mix
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of bakery supplies
  • Understand and comply consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures
  • Set a good example for the assistant baker and maintain a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, walls, grills, broilers, fryers, flat top range and refrigeration equipment
  • Report equipment and food quality problems to supervisor in a timely manner and pass along any concerns from the assistant baker
  • Inform supervisor immediately of product shortages
  • Use Standard Recipe Card for preparing all products and add new recipes as needed or requested
  • Use all kitchen equipment following proper procedures and training and assist in training the assistant bakers to be well versed in equipment usage and knowledge
  • Communicate with assistant baker and the Pastry Chef relaying food usage and quality control
  • Follow proper HAACP guidelines when handling, preparing, storing or stocking food items
  • Attend all mandatory department, casino and or training meetings
  • Follow all department and casino policies, procedures, and regulations as required
  • Ensure compliance with Tribal, State, Federal, and NIGC regulations
  • Ensure control and protection of company assets as applicable
  • Work days, nights, weekends, special events and holidays as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
