Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years bakery experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Outgoing and friendly behavior
- Positive attitude
- Good communication skills
- Ability to take direction and participate in a team environment
- Ability to answer phones and take special orders
- Ability to perform general housekeeping including cleaning and sanitizing work area
- Ability to operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
- Ability to stand for up to 3 hours continuously and 8 hours per shift
- Ability to lift and transfer trays weighing up to 5 lbs vertically and items up to 40 lbs vertically and horizontally without mechanical assistance
- Adherence to safety, health, and weight and measures regulations
- Possession of a Food Handlers permit
Job Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
- Possess 1-2 years of bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
- Demonstrate dependability and reliability with the ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Exhibit outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude and ability to interact well with customers
- Have good communication skills and ability to take direction and work in a team environment
- Ability to perform general housekeeping and maintain sanitation standards
- Capable of using bakery tools and equipment safely
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform moderate lifting
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and maintaining food handlers permit
Job Duties
- Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
- Provide a high level of customer service ensuring bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bakery department and equipment
- Stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining the rotation of all bakery products and discarding outdated or spoiled items
- Receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality
- Operate bakery equipment including knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
- Communicate effectively and handle special orders
