Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Have 1-2 years of bakery experience or equivalent education and experience
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Dependable and reliable
  • Ability to communicate effectively and participate in a team environment
  • Ability to answer phones and take special orders
  • Ability to perform general housekeeping and sanitation duties
  • Ability to operate bakery equipment including knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and transfer trays and items up to specified weights and distances without mechanical assistance
  • Adhere to safety, health, and weights and measures regulations
  • Maintain a Food Handlers permit

Job Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Have 1-2 years of bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • Possess good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
  • Exhibit outgoing, friendly behavior with a positive attitude and customer interaction skills
  • Able to answer phones and take special orders
  • Knowledge of operating bakery tools such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • Ability to stand for up to 3 hours continuously during an 8-hour shift

Job Duties

  • Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
  • Provide a high level of customer service while ensuring bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of the bakery area and equipment, including cleaning shelves, floors, and removing hazardous debris
  • Stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy of bakery products while rotating and discarding outdated or spoiled items
  • Receive, inspect, and log bakery products for accuracy, temperature, and quality
  • Answer phones and take special bakery orders
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in the bakery department
