Job Duties

  • Prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
  • Offer product samples to customers to help them discover new items
  • Inform customers of bakery specials
  • Provide fresh products in the correct portion sizes to reduce shrink
  • Recommend bakery items to meet customer needs
  • Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, and ovens according to guidelines
  • Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions
  • Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment
  • Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise
  • Check product quality and review sell-by dates
  • Use kitchen equipment including stoves, computerized scales, fryers, steamers, and robot coupe
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
  • Report ordering or shipping discrepancies to management
  • Locate products within the store as needed
  • Stay current on seasonal and special advertisements
  • Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer questions
  • Monitor inventory and stocking conditions, reporting discrepancies
  • Ensure proper temperatures in cases and maintain temperature logs
  • Promote trust and respect among associates
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Follow safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
  • Display a positive attitude
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and report repairs
  • Notify management of accidents
  • Report safety risks and illegal activities including theft or fraud
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
