Job Requirements

  • 1-2 years bakery experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays

  • perform general housekeeping and sanitation in the department
  • ability to operate bakery equipment including knives, scales, and pallet jacks
  • ability to stand for up to 3 hours continuously and transfer trays and items of specified weights
  • adherence to safety, health, and regulatory standards including Food Handlers permit

Job Qualifications

  • be at least 18 years of age
  • have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • possess 1-2 years bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • demonstrate dependable and reliable work habits

  • possess good communication skills and the ability to work in a team

  • have the ability to answer phones and take special orders
  • be capable of operating knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • able to stand for long periods and handle physical tasks as required
  • adhere to safety, health, and weights and measures regulations
  • maintain a Food Handlers permit

Job Duties

  • assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
  • provide a high level of customer service and ensure bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
  • maintain clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment including cleaning shelves and products, keeping floors free of spills, removing hazardous debris, and sweeping
  • stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining product rotation and discarding outdated items
  • receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality
  • answer phones and take special orders
  • perform general housekeeping including cleaning and sanitizing work areas
