Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years bakery experience or equivalent education and experience
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to take direction and work well within a team
  • Physical capability to stand for long periods and handle lifting and transferring items up to 40 lbs
  • Food Handlers permit
  • Adherence to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
  • Dependability and reliability

Job Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Have 1-2 years bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • Be dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Have outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude and ability to interact with customers
  • Possess good communication skills and ability to take direction in a team environment
  • Be able to answer phones and take special orders
  • Perform general housekeeping and sanitation in the bakery area
  • Be able to operate bakery tools and equipment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and handle physical demands of the role
  • Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
  • Hold and maintain a Food Handlers permit

Job Duties

  • Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
  • Provide a high level of customer service and ensure bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
  • Maintain clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment including cleaning shelves, products, floors, and removing hazardous debris
  • Stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining the rotation of all bakery products and discarding outdated or spoiled items
  • Receive, inspect, and log products for shipment accuracy, temperature, and quality
  • Take special customer orders and answer phones
  • Operate and use bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed
