Job Requirements
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED is required
- Minimum 2 years bakery experience preferred or relevant combination of education, training, or experience
- Servsafe certification required
- Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekends
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds consistently
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 60 pounds occasionally
- Physical ability to stand, sit, walk, reach overhead, bend, crouch, kneel, climb, and balance during shifts
- Strong coordination and manual dexterity
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math
- Must comply with safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures
Job Qualifications
- Associates degree in culinary arts with baking and pastry specialization preferred
- Minimum 2 years bakery experience preferred in production, commercial, or professional bakery settings
- High school diploma or GED required
- Servsafe certification required
- Ability to follow bakery procedures and recipes
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure effectively
- Experience with bread production stages, laminated doughs, cake decorating, and pastry processes
- Basic math, reading, and writing skills
- Coordination, precision, independent judgment, and decision-making abilities
- Flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Duties
- Prepare, bake, and finish cakes, pies, French pastry, cream tarts and other dessert/baked items according to the standard recipe
- Prepare dessert and baked goods for restaurants and banquets as per production sheets
- Prepare requisition for items for storeroom and pastry/bakery chef approval
- Maintain clean and sanitary work stations within Servsafe and GSR guidelines
- Follow directions and recipes as dictated by bakery management
- Demonstrate communication, initiative, problem solving, guest service, work habits and professional conduct
- Handle opening duties including outlet and banquet orders and daily task prep
- Produce a wide range of breads, pastries, and baked goods
- Manage bread and pastry stock rotation and inventory
- Identify problems, find solutions, make decisions reflecting positively on the company
- Communicate effectively with team members, guests, and vendors
- Perform any other duties assigned within this position's scope
