Job Requirements
- Two-year degree or equivalent
- At least 2-4 years experience in restaurant or hospitality management
- Experience in multi-unit restaurant or hotel setting preferred
- Availability for evening and holiday shifts
- Proficient with POS systems
- Must obtain San Diego Food Handler certification
- RBS Certification required
- Valid driver’s license with no recent violations
- Ability to stand and lift up to 50 lbs for entire shift
- Strong leadership and customer service skills
- Ability to work under stress and maintain professionalism
Job Qualifications
- Two-year associates degree, trade school degree, professional certification or any equivalent
- At least 2-4 years of relevant experience and/or training
- A combination of experience, education, and/or training may be substituted for either requirement
- Previous similar position in a multi-unit restaurant setting or hotel is preferred
- Experience running a shift, scheduling, performance management, problem-solving, running day-to-day operations, hospitality and customer service skills
- Availability for closing shifts at least five nights per week, including weekends and holidays, is required
- Proficient with Point of Sale (POS) systems
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Must be able to attain a valid San Diego County Food Handler certification upon hire
- RBS Certification required
- Must have an unexpired and valid driver's license with no recent violations
- Ability to exemplify and always lead with a friendly, professional, team-oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude, especially under stress or challenges
Job Duties
- Oversee daily restaurant and bar operations with a strong focus on team leadership, service excellence, and adherence to Evans Hotels standards and procedures
- Spend 70-80% of time on the floor, supporting and guiding team members throughout the Food & Beverage operation
- Supervise, train, and evaluate FOH staff through coaching, expert-led sessions, vendor training, and regular performance reviews
- Inspire ongoing development by conducting regular staff testing and scheduling trainings with vendors and industry professionals
- Recruit and hire top talent by understanding staffing needs, conducting interviews, and actively seeking potential candidates
- Develop and manage FOH schedules based on business needs, ensuring timely posting, compliance with labor regulations, and proper break management
- Foster a positive work environment and effectively resolve guest issues through gracious recovery techniques and by modeling warm hospitality
