Job Requirements

ability to lift up to 70 pounds
prolonged standing and walking in an indoor/outdoor environment as applicable
must be able to push, pull
must be able to work at elevated heights
must be able to reach with arms and grasp with hands
must be able to bend, stretch, squat, and kneel
exposure to moderate and at times high noise levels
be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms
tasks may involve repetitive motions of the arms, wrists, hands and/or fingers
specific vision abilities required including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus

Job Qualifications

18 years of age or older
eligible to work in the United States
ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
ability to use electronic devices including iPads, tablets, computers, and mobile devices
effectively communicate both in-person and through electronic means
pass a background check and drug screen
eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal as applicable)
ability to work any day/shift, including holidays, within a 24/7 operation

Job Duties

Load and unload passenger luggage and cargo on and off aircraft
operate baggage handling equipment such as conveyor belts and trolleys
sort and route baggage to the correct flight and carousel
ensure timely delivery of baggage to and from aircraft
inspect baggage for damage or security risks and report any issues
follow safety guidelines and procedures while handling baggage
work closely with other ground staff to ensure efficient baggage processing
