Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have reliable telephone and transportation
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in written form in English
  • Ability to read, understand and carry out instructions in English
  • Treat all information as confidential
  • Possess tact to deal with clients, employees, and the public
  • Able to stand, stoop, squat, push, bend, and/or stand for extended periods during shifts
  • Able to lift, carry, and/or hold up to 75 lbs
  • Must pass pre-employment and random drug screenings
  • Must pass a criminal background check
  • Must meet requirements for security sensitive identification badge
  • Must be a US citizen or have authorization from INS

Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Previous airport and/or customer service experience preferred
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English verbally and in writing
  • Ability to read, understand, and carry out instructions in English
  • Ability to work from verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Possess tact and diplomacy in all customer interactions
  • Must meet necessary requirements to obtain security sensitive identification badge
  • Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests
  • Must pass a criminal background check
  • Authorized to work in the US (citizen or possess necessary immigration authorization)

Job Duties

  • Provide friendly and welcoming assistance to customers checking baggage through automated self-service technologies
  • Interpret government rules and requirements for domestic and international travel
  • Serve customers in a caring, efficient, and diplomatic manner
  • Stand for extended periods within the Bag Drop check-in area to assist customers
  • Comprehend and communicate up-to-date carry-on and checked baggage requirements
  • Query passengers using FAA mandated security questions
  • Verify customer identification as required by FAA/TSA
  • Visually verify proper placement of bag tags on self-tagged checked baggage
  • Verify carry-on items meet carrier size requirements
  • Activate bag tags using automated electronic scanning device
  • Verify weight of checked items and collect applicable baggage fees
  • Handle checked bags including lifting, weighing, and placing on bag belts
  • Affix printed bag tags from podium printers
  • Change stock in automated printers
  • Complete required paperwork
  • Demonstrate welcoming and helpful behaviors consistently
  • Possibly communicate fluently in specific foreign languages as required
