Job Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have reliable telephone and transportation
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in written form in English
- Ability to read, understand and carry out instructions in English
- Treat all information as confidential
- Possess tact to deal with clients, employees, and the public
- Able to stand, stoop, squat, push, bend, and/or stand for extended periods during shifts
- Able to lift, carry, and/or hold up to 75 lbs
- Must pass pre-employment and random drug screenings
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Must meet requirements for security sensitive identification badge
- Must be a US citizen or have authorization from INS
Job Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Previous airport and/or customer service experience preferred
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English verbally and in writing
- Ability to read, understand, and carry out instructions in English
- Ability to work from verbal and written instructions
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Possess tact and diplomacy in all customer interactions
- Must meet necessary requirements to obtain security sensitive identification badge
- Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Authorized to work in the US (citizen or possess necessary immigration authorization)
Job Duties
- Provide friendly and welcoming assistance to customers checking baggage through automated self-service technologies
- Interpret government rules and requirements for domestic and international travel
- Serve customers in a caring, efficient, and diplomatic manner
- Stand for extended periods within the Bag Drop check-in area to assist customers
- Comprehend and communicate up-to-date carry-on and checked baggage requirements
- Query passengers using FAA mandated security questions
- Verify customer identification as required by FAA/TSA
- Visually verify proper placement of bag tags on self-tagged checked baggage
- Verify carry-on items meet carrier size requirements
- Activate bag tags using automated electronic scanning device
- Verify weight of checked items and collect applicable baggage fees
- Handle checked bags including lifting, weighing, and placing on bag belts
- Affix printed bag tags from podium printers
- Change stock in automated printers
- Complete required paperwork
- Demonstrate welcoming and helpful behaviors consistently
- Possibly communicate fluently in specific foreign languages as required
