Job Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have reliable telephone and transportation
- Treat all information as confidential
- Possess tact when dealing with clients, employees and public
- Ability to read, understand and follow instructions in English
- Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing
- Must be able to lift, stoop, squat, push, stand and/or bend throughout the shift
- Must be able to lift, carry and/or hold up to 75 lbs
- Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Must meet requirements for obtaining a security sensitive identification badge
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have necessary INS authorization
Job Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Previous airport and/or customer service experience preferred
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to read, understand and carry out instructions in English
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing
- Ability to work from verbal and written instructions
- Fluency in a specific foreign language may be required
Job Duties
- Provide friendly and welcoming assistance to customers checking baggage through automated self-service technologies
- Interpret and apply government rules and requirements for domestic and international travel
- Serve customers in a caring, efficient, and diplomatic manner
- Stand for extended periods in the bag drop check-in area to assist and assess customer needs
- Communicate carry-on and checked baggage requirements accurately
- Query passengers with FAA mandated security questions
- Verify customer identification as required by FAA/TSA
- Visually verify proper placement of bag tags
- Verify carry-on items meet size requirements
- Activate bag tags using electronic scanning devices
- Weigh checked baggage and collect fees when applicable
- Handle checked bags by lifting, weighing, and placing on belt
- Affix printed bag tags from podium printers
- Change stock in automated printers
- Complete required paperwork
- Demonstrate welcoming and helpful behavior consistently
- Comply with all safety requirements including use of PPE and reporting unsafe conditions
