Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in hospitality or customer service preferred
- ability to lift heavy luggage up to 100 pounds
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to speak and understand english
- capability to stand and walk for extended periods
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- must be at least 18 years of age
- dependable and punctual
- ability to follow safety procedures and report hazards
- physical stamina and strength
- positive attitude and poise under pressure
Job Qualifications
- ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers requiring patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger
- ability to read, write, speak and understand english sufficient to complete baggage tags and communicate with guests and employees
- ability to provide clear direction, instruction and guidance to guests
- ability to answer guest inquiries with a positive clear speaking voice
- basic mathematical skills necessary to count baggage
- ability to open cab doors
- ability to grasp, bend, lift and carry or otherwise move luggage weighing up to 100 pounds
- ability to walk, stand and work 95 percent of shift walking a maximum of 5 miles
- ability to remain alert and calm during emergency situations
- ability to maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
- ability to keep workstation neat and orderly
- ability to maintain attendance in conformance with standards
Job Duties
- Welcome all guests arriving in cabs and limousines to the hotel
- assist guests from the vehicle they arrived in
- offer luggage assistance and give directions if applicable
- thank departing guests for staying at the hotel and assist them with their bags and vehicle doors
- be knowledgeable about all activities occurring in the hotel to answer guest inquiries
- reorder claim checks as needed
- assist valet parking and drive limousines as required
- assist in the check room
- report all suspicious persons or activities and hazardous conditions to supervisor, security or safety personnel
- provide instruction and guidance for guest and employee safety in fire and emergency situations
- abide by all state, federal and corporate liquor and gaming regulations
