Job Requirements

  • must have a high school diploma or GED
  • must be skilled in processing all types of Amtrak tickets and understanding tariffs
  • must be qualified with Arrow, Railres/Stars and Quik-Trak systems
  • must be able to make ticket reports and safeguard company funds
  • must be able to perform preventative maintenance on ticketing equipment
  • must be able to assist customers with special needs
  • must be able to handle luggage and package express and operate related equipment
  • must be able to lift up to 50lbs
  • must be able to push or pull baggage carts
  • must be comfortable speaking on the public address system
  • must abide by all corporate and station policies
  • must comply with company uniform and grooming standards

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED
  • skilled in processing Amtrak tickets and understanding tariffs
  • proficient with Arrow, Railres/Stars and Quik-Trak systems
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to assist passengers with special needs
  • knowledge of baggage handling and ability to operate related equipment
  • ability to lift items up to 50lbs
  • ability to push or pull baggage carts
  • willingness to perform janitorial tasks
  • adherence to company uniform and grooming policies

Job Duties

  • maintain a positive, good natured attitude
  • greet, service and ensure the comfort of each passenger
  • interact with customers, speak on a public address system and use Amtrak computer systems
  • process all types of Amtrak tickets and price tickets accurately using tariffs
  • make ticket reports and safeguard company funds
  • maintain and perform preventative maintenance on ticket printers and Quik-Trak machines
  • keep information racks stocked
  • assist customers with special needs
  • assist passengers with luggage and boarding trains
  • operate baggage equipment and handle baggage and package express
  • perform janitorial duties as needed
  • disseminate verbal and printed information including schedules, fares, and boarding information
  • ensure timely boarding and verify proper ticketing and travel documents
  • comply with baggage requirements prior to platform admission
