Job Requirements
- ability to stand or walk for extended periods
- ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Job Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience in café, bar, or restaurant operations
- 1+ years in a leadership or supervisory role preferred
- strong working knowledge of both food assembly (cicchetti, pastries, paninetti, boards) and beverage service (espresso, cocktails)
- ability to maintain composure and leadership in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- excellent communication, delegation, and conflict-resolution skills
- deep commitment to product quality, team development, and genuine hospitality
- TIPS certification and ServSafe required or ability to obtain prior to start
Job Duties
- lead, coach, and support bacaro café attendants and beverage specialists during all shifts
- provide on-the-spot training, reinforcement of standards, and mentorship to team members
- assist in new hire onboarding and ensure staff understand menu items, recipes, service expectations, and safety protocols
- model gather group standards of excellence through positive communication, professionalism, and guest-focused behavior
- oversee all opening and closing procedures for both the café and bar programs
- ensure smooth transitions between morning pastries, afternoon cicchetti and paninetti service, and evening bar operations
- maintain readiness of all service areas, including displays, prep stations, equipment, and storage
- monitor daily par levels for all food, beverage, and café ingredients
- maintain quality standards for pastries, cornetti, bomboloni, biscotti, mini cannoli, paninetti, cicchetti, boards, and prepared items
- ensure accurate assembly, portioning, and presentation of all food items from opening to close
- maintain product freshness and rotation (FIFO)
- oversee recipe accuracy and consistency of all espresso beverages, cocktails, spritzes, and seasonal drinks
- ensure bar mise en place, garnishes, syrups, and service items meet quality and par standards
- support beverage specialists with execution and bar flow during peak service
- deliver warm, anticipatory service
- step into guest-facing interactions when needed
- resolve guest concerns with grace, ownership, and solution-oriented thinking
- ensure tables, counters, and service areas remain clean, stocked, and inviting
- champion a culture of sincerity, efficiency, and approachability
- assist with scheduling, staffing adjustments, and labor deployment during shifts
- support inventory counts for both café and bar items
- ensure compliance with health, safety, servsafe, tips, and sanitation standards
- communicate equipment concerns or maintenance needs proactively
