Job Description
The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) Community and Technical College is currently seeking a Student Assistant 1 to join the Aviation Technology Center office located at Merrill Field Airport in Anchorage, Alaska. Job Requirements
- Be enrolled in the University of Alaska system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment or have been enrolled the preceding semester for six or more credit hours and plan to enroll for six or more credit hours in the upcoming semester
- Maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average or have approval from the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs or their designee
- Be available to work between 8:00am and 4:00pm Monday through Friday
- Be able to work up to 20 hours per week during academic sessions and up to 40 hours per week during summer
- Be an undergraduate student
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently and as part of a team
Job Qualifications
- Be officially enrolled in the University of Alaska system with at least six credit hours
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 or approval from the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs
- Possess strong customer service skills
- Demonstrate professional telephone etiquette and excellent communication
- Have basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively
- Be able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Job Duties
- Provide customer service over the phone, in person, and by email
- Use professional telephone etiquette, verbal and written communication skills
- Perform basic computer tasks including Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs, Sheets, and email
- Prioritize tasks and complete projects by their deadlines
- Follow instructions and work independently and as part of a team
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
