Job Requirements

  • Graduation with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • One year related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Must pass the university’s Defensive Driving Course while employed
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work under high stress situations and hazardous environments
  • Ability to withstand exposure to weather extremes and adverse tarmac conditions
  • Ability to adhere to dress code including proper safety clothing and winter wear
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs and manually manipulate aircraft in hangars

Job Qualifications

  • Graduation with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of related experience or any combination of job-related experience and education totaling one year
  • Skills in computer applications
  • Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Mechanical dexterity and basic hardware and tool knowledge
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to work under stress and hazardous conditions
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs and manually manipulate aircraft
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass Defensive Driving Course

Job Duties

  • Direct aircraft arrival and departure by guiding, towing, parking, greeting, and organizing aircraft on the ramp
  • Operate ground service equipment including tugs, fuel trucks, and transport vehicles
  • Use appropriate aviation hand signals to communicate with pilots
  • Monitor fuel levels and maintain fuel inventories ensuring aircraft are adequately fueled
  • Perform quality control checks on fueling for safety and efficiency
  • Conduct light maintenance tasks such as checking aircraft lights
  • Assist in the upkeep and maintenance of hangars and ramp areas
  • Perform snow removal and de-icing operations during adverse weather
  • Provide customer service including giving directions, interacting with dispatchers, and assisting pilots and students
  • Report any visible aircraft damages and suspicious activities to security
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
