Job Requirements

  • Valid Washington State Driver's License or ability to obtain one
  • Ability to work assigned shifts including weekends, holidays, and emergencies
  • Ability to work primarily in an office environment with exposure to high noise and hazardous materials
  • Must establish and maintain Washington State residency within 30 days of employment start
  • Must pass TSA and FBI background checks
  • Employment contingent on obtaining Port of Seattle ID badge and U.S. Customs and Border Patrol Customs Seal within 30 days of hire

Job Qualifications

  • Three years of experience in aviation or security operations
  • One year of supervisory, lead, or mentor experience including leading a project or process
  • Incident Command Systems 100 and 200 certifications preferred
  • Airport Security Coordinator Certification from AAAE preferred
  • Effective verbal, written, and active listening communication skills
  • Strong relationship-building abilities
  • Ability to move from strategy to tactics and execute plans effectively

Job Duties

  • Direct operational management and service functions of the department to ensure high-quality support
  • Provide continuous performance management and conduct employee performance evaluations
  • Address performance and behavior issues by clarifying expectations and providing feedback
  • Support diversity through selection, management, and retention of employees
  • Build strong and effective relationships with leadership to share information and design solutions
  • Communicate with stakeholders to ensure understanding and obtain buy-in
  • Identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions or approaches to problems
