Job Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old at time of application
- High school diploma or GED equivalency required
- Valid State of Illinois driver’s license
- Pass all pre-employment procedures including drug screen, physical (50lb lift test), criminal background, and TSA background checks
- Pass a Ground Motor Vehicle Operating Regulation Basic Driving test within six months of hire
- Successfully complete an 8-week training program and pass to receive final assignment
- Availability to work 24/7 on-call operations with mandatory overtime
- Able to perform duties including pat down searches and physical restraints
- Must pass a Homeland Security check and background investigation
- Must be able to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- One year of security, safety, loss prevention, or customer service experience, or at least 60 semester hours from an accredited college, or a certificate from a military, federal, state, or local law enforcement training program, or two consecutive years of active duty with honorable discharge documentation, or 30 semester hours plus at least one year of active military service, or completion of Unarmed Security Guard Basic Certificate from City Colleges of Chicago

Job Duties
- Patrols airport terminal areas, grounds, and perimeter to ensure security
- Identifies improper activity or irregularities and provides security and customer service
- Monitors access to restricted areas by checking and validating identification badges
- Observes vehicles for proper authorization before allowing airfield access
- Inspects access control devices and secured areas
- Issues citations for traffic and security violations
- Detains and restrains individuals violating laws and coordinates with Chicago Police Officers
- Responds to incidents and disturbances, secures areas, and requests backup as needed
- Prepares reports documenting incidents and maintains daily activity logs
- Maintains crowd and traffic control in terminal areas and escorts vehicles and personnel
- Conducts patrols supporting TSA and FAA security programs
- Administers first aid, CPR, and operates AED equipment
- Drives security vehicles and communicates via radio
- Establishes relationships with airport tenants to address security issues
- Testifies at judicial proceedings and administrative hearings
- Performs other related duties as required
