Job Requirements
- Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university
- Five years of professional-level experience in aviation operations with three years in airport or air carrier security management
- Three years of supervisory experience
- Possession of or ability to obtain a valid California driver’s license prior to employment
- Must obtain Airport Security Coordinator Certification within six months of appointment
- Ability to perform duties on weekends, evenings, and holidays as required
- Successful completion of TSA security clearance including criminal history check and fingerprinting
- Qualification for unescorted access to San Francisco International Airport U.S. Customs Security Area
- Successful medical examination prior to appointment
Job Qualifications
- Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university
- Five years of professional-level aviation operations experience including three years in airport or air carrier security management
- Three years of supervisory experience managing professionals
- Valid California driver’s license or ability to obtain prior to employment
- Strong background in TSA regulation compliance including Part 1542
- Experience developing and delivering presentations to stakeholders
- Program or project management experience
- Demonstrated sound decision-making and judgment abilities
- Experience resolving complex issues
- AAAE Airport Certified Employee (ACE) Security Certification preferred
- AAAE Certified Member (C.M.) preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Job Duties
- Develop, implement, and maintain airport security procedures and compliance programs
- Manage and develop a high-performance security team
- Direct allocation of resources to meet program goals and budgets
- Manage security projects including technology and vendor systems
- Monitor expenditures and analyze cost-effective solutions
- Evaluate security events and develop procedural improvements
- Serve as primary Airport Security Coordinator and represent the airport in TSA matters
- Identify and implement aviation security policies and approve related amendments
- Promote teamwork and innovation in security activities
- Lead strategic planning for aviation security and compliance programs
- Review and analyze security reports and audits to identify trends
- Monitor effectiveness of security program units and recommend improvements
- Serve as liaison with city officials, agencies, airlines, and airport tenants
- Negotiate and resolve complex security issues and policies
