Job Requirements

  • Good distant vision in each eye and ability to read printed materials without strain
  • Ability to hear conversational voice
  • No physical condition that poses a hazard to self or others or interferes with ability to fly as passenger
  • At least one year of specialized experience at FV-H, FG/GS-12 level
  • Ability to perform duties safely and efficiently
  • Meet medical standards required for the position

Job Qualifications

  • At least one year of specialized experience at FV-H, FG/GS-12 level
  • Experience conducting flight attendant training under FAR and FAA approved programs
  • Skilled in investigating public complaints and aircraft incidents
  • Ability to conduct enforcement investigations and prepare reports
  • Experience monitoring and evaluating training program compliance
  • Strong knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations and FAA policies

Job Duties

  • Serve as a resource and technical authority on cabin safety within assigned field office
  • Provide technical support regarding cabin safety for assigned air carriers and operators
  • Ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, FAA policy and approved programs
  • Conduct flight attendant training as required by FAR and FAA approved programs
  • Investigate public complaints, congressional inquiries, and aircraft incidents and accidents
  • Conduct enforcement investigations and prepare final reports and recommendations
  • Monitor and evaluate airline training programs for compliance and safe operating practices
