Job Requirements

  • Physically able to perform Aviation Safety Inspector duties safely and efficiently
  • Good distant vision in each eye, with or without corrective lenses
  • Ability to hear conversational voice, with or without hearing aid
  • No physical condition hazards affecting self or others
  • Must be able to fly safely as a passenger in various aircraft
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-H, FG/GS-12 level
  • Experience in flight attendant training, enforcement investigations, and compliance monitoring
  • Qualifications must be met by closing date of vacancy announcement

Job Qualifications

  • Experience conducting flight attendant training as per FAR and FAA-approved programs
  • Skilled in investigating public complaints, congressional inquiries, and aircraft incidents
  • Proficient in enforcement investigations and report preparation
  • Knowledge of FARs, FAA policies, and national/regional directives
  • Ability to monitor and evaluate training program compliance

Job Duties

  • Serve as a resource and technical authority on cabin safety requirements
  • Provide technical support to assigned air carriers and operators
  • Ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, FAA policies, and approved programs
  • Conduct flight attendant training audits
  • Investigate public complaints and aircraft incidents
  • Prepare reports and recommendations based on investigations
  • Monitor and evaluate company training programs for compliance with safety standards
