Job Requirements
- Not more than two separate incidents involving Title 14 CFR violations in the last five years
- Valid state driver’s license
- Fluency in the English language
- No chemical dependencies or drug abuse
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Physically able to perform inspection duties safely and efficiently
- Good distant vision with or without corrective lenses
- Ability to hear conversational voice with or without hearing aid
- No physical conditions posing hazards or interfering with job duties
- At least one year of pilot experience in multi-engine aircraft over 12,500 pounds
- Three years experience in aviation organizations as specified
- Minimum 1,500 total flight hours
- Hold a valid Airline Transport Pilot Certificate
- No more than two pilot error flying accidents in the last five years
- Demonstrated experience equivalent to FV-I, FG/GS-13 grade level as an Aviation Safety Inspector
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of pilot experience in multi-engine aircraft over 12,500 pounds maximum certificated takeoff weight
- Three years of experience working with air carriers, commercial operators, or air agencies
- One year of experience with multi-engine aircraft or over 12,500 pounds maximum takeoff weight
- Minimum 1,500 total flight hours
- Valid Airline Transport Pilot Certificate
- Fluency in English
- Valid state driver’s license
Job Duties
- Conduct certification inspections for air carriers and air operators
- Perform surveillance of assigned aviation organizations to ensure compliance with 14 CFR
- Inspect airmen qualifications and designee activities
- Establish and implement work programs for inspection and surveillance
- Monitor flight operations programs for regulatory compliance
- Provide guidance and support to assigned organizations to maintain safety standards
- Document findings and recommend corrective actions when necessary
