Job Requirements

  • Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree or higher in aviation, education, technology or related fields
  • PhD and MS degrees are preferred for teaching courses in specific aviation program areas
  • Several years of professional or industry experience may substitute educational credentials under exceptional circumstances
  • Experience in multicultural educational settings and demonstrated sensitivity to diverse student populations
  • Ability to utilize Canvas LMS and adapt teaching methods to various course delivery modes
  • Willingness to comply with university policies, complete required training, and undergo background checks
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Ability to commute to San Jose campus

Job Qualifications

  • Demonstrate awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural population gained through cross-cultural study, training, teaching or comparable experience
  • Possess a PhD or MS degree in the field or related areas, or alternatively a BS degree with several years of experience under exceptional cases
  • Have industry experience in the relevant field
  • Possess knowledge of the subject matter to which assigned
  • Provide evidence of satisfactory achievement in previous academic work

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate awareness of and address the needs of a student population of great diversity, including age, abilities, cultural background, ethnicity, religion, economic background, primary language, sexual orientation, gender identity, and academic preparation, through inclusive course materials, teaching strategies and advisement
  • Organize all classes within the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Offer and conduct all classes as scheduled throughout the semester or term in the assigned mode (asynchronous, synchronous, bichronous, in-person, or hybrid)
  • Work with the Department Chair and Course Coordinators to develop course materials and teach courses effectively
  • Maintain appropriate office hours in accordance with University Policy
  • Cooperate with the department in the peer-review process
  • Seek guidance from the Department Chair for clarification on university policies, grading, testing, textbooks, office hours, curriculum goals, disability accommodations, academic integrity, and other relevant matters
