Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
- Civil PE license in Alaska
- Minimum 7 years of professional civil engineering experience
- Knowledge of FAA design standards and specifications
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel within Alaska
- Ability to mentor junior staff
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's or higher degree in civil engineering
- Civil PE license in Alaska
- 7+ years of professional experience in civil engineering
- Thorough knowledge and application of FAA design standards and specifications
- Proficient in design of aviation and civil engineering projects including alignments, profiles, typical sections, site grading, and drainage
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience with MS Office programs, especially Word and Excel
Job Duties
- Serve as a technical specialist and consultant on aviation related projects
- Prepare reports and develop project design elements including plans, specifications, and estimates
- Identify and analyze principal design features and major design alternatives
- Collaborate closely with regional practice leaders in other business lines
- Peer review plans and provide quality control reviews of technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates
- Mentor junior staff in technical design elements and the development of project documents
- Develop aviation projects for the State of Alaska
