Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
  • Civil PE license in Alaska
  • Minimum 7 years of professional civil engineering experience
  • Knowledge of FAA design standards and specifications
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to travel within Alaska
  • Ability to mentor junior staff

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in civil engineering
  • Civil PE license in Alaska
  • 7+ years of professional experience in civil engineering
  • Thorough knowledge and application of FAA design standards and specifications
  • Proficient in design of aviation and civil engineering projects including alignments, profiles, typical sections, site grading, and drainage
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Experience with MS Office programs, especially Word and Excel

Job Duties

  • Serve as a technical specialist and consultant on aviation related projects
  • Prepare reports and develop project design elements including plans, specifications, and estimates
  • Identify and analyze principal design features and major design alternatives
  • Collaborate closely with regional practice leaders in other business lines
  • Peer review plans and provide quality control reviews of technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates
  • Mentor junior staff in technical design elements and the development of project documents
  • Develop aviation projects for the State of Alaska
