Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalence certificate (GED)
- One year of work experience performing high volume public contact work requiring soliciting information either in-person, via telephone or radio, or one year of work experience conducting telephone interviews or surveys, or one year of work experience in receiving and processing or dispatching emergency calls, or one year of professional law enforcement officer experience
- Must be at least 18 years old at time of application
- Must obtain Emergency Medical Dispatch certification from the State of Illinois within six months of hire
- Must obtain LEADS certification prior to completion of probationary period
- Successful completion of drug screen and background investigation
- Must pass airport background check and Security Threat Assessment
- Ability to work mandatory overtime based on operational needs
- Willingness to work shifts including 10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m., 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., and 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.
Job Qualifications

- One year of work experience in high-volume public contact, telephone interviews, emergency dispatch, or law enforcement
- Ability to obtain Emergency Medical Dispatch certification within six months of hire

- Familiarity with computer-aided dispatch systems and interactive mapping
- Strong communication and multitasking skills
- Ability to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and mandatory overtime
Job Duties
- Operate police, fire, and security communications console to receive calls from airport and airline personnel
- Obtain and verify pertinent information from callers to assess incident type, gravity, and location
- Enter information into computer-aided dispatch system with interactive mapping
- Dispatch police, fire, emergency medical services, and aviation security officers to respond to reported incidents
- Monitor communications with dispatched personnel via radio, telephone, and computer systems
- Follow established protocols for prioritizing public safety resource deployment
- Monitor and respond to security alarms triggered by access control breaches
- Review security camera and video tape footage to assess security breaches
- Notify TSA of reported security incidents according to protocols
- Broadcast emergency weather and other emergency announcements to airport personnel
- Notify supervisors of emergencies and incidents requiring emergency management response
- Perform other related duties as required
