- Understanding of signal flow on a professional level
- Experience supporting AV and lighting rigging in a stage or theatre environment
- Lighting control experience
- Proficiency in computer hardware and software troubleshooting for Windows and Apple OSX
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow directions quickly
- Experience supporting lighting systems and control apparatus
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Knowledge of audio cables, DSPs, and digital mixing consoles operations
- Ability to set up digital wireless microphone systems with knowledge of frequency spectrums
- Working knowledge of projectors, smart TVs, HD cameras, HD cables, control systems, and wire management
- Experience operating Crestron touch panels and iPads for event running
- Knowledge of professional moving head DMX controlled lighting fixtures and laser systems
- Experience maintaining moving head fixtures including gobo changing, lamp and effects wheel replacement
- Experience with PC-based DMX controllers
- Networking knowledge for IP-based AV systems fault finding and hardware replacement
Job Duties
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of AV systems including signal flow and professional setups
- Access, configure, and maintain digital processors
- Remove and replace AV equipment with minimal supervision
- Work independently and proactively
- Suggest ideas for AV improvement
- Train and support technicians in AV systems
- Perform general maintenance and support of audio-visual equipment and lighting systems
- Operate audio distribution, sound reinforcement, and lighting systems during museum events
- Operate sound and lighting boards for the planetarium
- Support laser light shows at events
- Monitor AV equipment during event setup and breakdown
- Troubleshoot AV equipment and identify appropriate solutions
- Troubleshoot technology exhibits running on Mac OSX and Windows
- Provide basic instructions on AV equipment operation to customers
- Maintain regular maintenance checks on all AV systems
- Support museum staff and clients using installed AV systems
- Be on-call during production periods and emergencies
- Attend AV staff meetings and training sessions
- Undertake other relevant activities directed by the AV Manager and VP of Technology
